Terms of Service
Last updated: April 2026
By using ClearBill, you agree to these Terms of Service. Please read them carefully before using the service.
Service Description
ClearBill is a medical bill analysis and dispute assistance tool. We scan uploaded medical bills for potential errors, overcharges, and billing discrepancies, and generate dispute letter templates to help patients communicate directly with their healthcare providers.
ClearBill is an educational tool, NOT a law firm, and does NOT provide legal advice. Nothing in our analysis, dispute letters, or communications constitutes legal advice or creates an attorney-client relationship.
Not Legal Advice — Important Disclaimer
All analysis, dispute letters, phone scripts, and guidance provided by ClearBill are for informational and educational purposes only. We are not attorneys and we do not represent you in any legal proceeding. For complex billing disputes, legal matters, or situations involving collections, we strongly recommend consulting a qualified healthcare attorney or patient advocate.
Send-For-You Service ($49 Tier)
The $49 "We Send It For You" tier includes a communication service where ClearBill sends your dispute letter to the hospital or provider billing department on your behalf. Important terms for this service:
- ClearBill acts as your authorized communication agent, not as your legal representative
- The dispute letter is written as FROM you (the patient/guarantor) and references your specific billing information
- By authorizing this service, you confirm you are the patient or authorized representative for the account
- ClearBill is not responsible for the outcome of any dispute or for the healthcare provider's response
- This service does not constitute legal representation or create any attorney-client relationship
Document Processing & Privacy
Your uploaded medical documents are processed for analysis only. Documents are encrypted during processing and automatically deleted after analysis. We never store or share your health information with third parties. Medical documents are not retained long-term.
Accuracy
ClearBill analyzes your bill based on the information you provide. We make no guarantees regarding the completeness or accuracy of our analysis. Results depend on the quality and legibility of the uploaded document. We are not responsible for errors resulting from incomplete or illegible documents. If we detect no errors, we will tell you clearly — we never fabricate issues.
Refund & Guarantee Policy
If we do not find any billing errors in your uploaded bill, you will not be charged. If errors are found and you complete your purchase but are not satisfied with the report quality, contact us at support@clearbill.app within 7 days for a full refund. We do not guarantee any specific monetary recovery from disputes — outcomes depend on your healthcare provider's response.
User Responsibilities
- You must upload only documents you own or have legal authority to submit
- You are responsible for verifying the accuracy of dispute letters before sending them
- You are responsible for the outcome of any dispute you file with a healthcare provider
- By using the Send-For-You service, you confirm you authorize ClearBill to communicate with your provider on your behalf
Limitation of Liability
ClearBill's liability is limited to the amount paid for the service (maximum $49). We are not liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from use of the service, from the outcome of any billing dispute, or from any healthcare provider's response or failure to respond.
Privacy
Use of ClearBill is also governed by our Privacy Policy, which is incorporated into these Terms by reference.
Changes to Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. Continued use of ClearBill after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.
